Right off the bat it was very clear that V.B. would be a natural at the sport. By the age of 13, He had \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003ecountless freestyle and Greco state titles. \u003c\/strong\u003eHe earned\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e three western regional titles \u003c\/strong\u003e(that includes 13 states), and at the National Tournament in Fresno, California he \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003eplaced in both styles; 2\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003end\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e in Greco and 6\u003c\/span\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e in freestyle\u003c\/strong\u003e.  This gave him his \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003efirst two USA Wrestling All American awards\u003c\/strong\u003e. V.B. also captured \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003etwo WOW (World of Wrestling)\u003c\/strong\u003e All American awards; One by placing \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e3\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003erd\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e In the Reno Tournament of Champions\u003c\/strong\u003e, and by placing \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e2\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003end\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e in Colorado at the Mile High Tournament of Champions\u003c\/strong\u003e. These accomplishments made him well prepared for high school competition.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.295; direction: ltr; margin-left: 0px;\"\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e V.B. had high expectations for himself in high school wrestling, but what he did in his four years in High school would be more than he had imagined. For the \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003efirst part of his freshmen year he was undeafted\u003c\/strong\u003e. It wasn't until early January, 2002 when he faced his \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003efirst loss \u003c\/strong\u003ein the finals of the Rollie Lane Tournament. The match was forced to stop due to a concussion that he suffered during the match. After recovering, he was at it again, not losing until the last regular season tournament; Tiger Griz. he added two more losses to his record. After that last loss, something clicked in is head saying \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\"NO MORE!\"\u003c\/strong\u003e V.B. went on the rest of the year winning every match and capturing his first state championship as a freshmen. Amazing as that sounds, what he did the next three years was nearly impossible. After that last loss as a freshman, \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003ehe never lost again in is high school career.\u003c\/strong\u003e He rode a \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e139 winning streak\u003c\/strong\u003e becoming the fifth person to win four high school state titles in the 5A division for the state of Idaho. This left him with an amazing \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e154 wins and only 3 losses. \u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.295; direction: ltr; margin-left: 0px;\"\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003eAfter high school, V.B. had offers to wrestle at Boise State and the University of Iowa. Unfortunately he was unable to pass the NCAA clearing house and was forced to choose outside of the NCAA. He made his choice to wrestle with his older brother at \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003eClackamas Community College\u003c\/strong\u003e in Oregon City, OR.  V.B. ended up placing \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e4\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e\u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e at the NJCAA national tournament\u003c\/strong\u003e, becoming an \u003cstrong style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003eAll American again,\u003c\/strong\u003e and helping his team to place 7\u003c\/span\u003e\u003csup style=\"box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 9.6px; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003e that year.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"box-sizing: inherit;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"box-sizing: inherit; letter-spacing: 0em;\"\u003eOn April 15, 2015, V.B. passed away at the age of 27. He truly loved the people in his sport of wrestling, he cherished the friendships he made throughout his life and doing what he loved to do.
